Article IX — Amendments
The Bylaws may be amended by vote of Owners holding at least sixty percent (60%) of the total votes in the Association, provided all Owners entitled to vote thereon are duly notified of the proposed amendment.
Committee Notes
A 60% supermajority requirement protects bylaw stability — no faction can unilaterally change the rules governing the community. Notice to all owners is a mandatory prerequisite; amendments cannot be adopted without proper notice. The "total votes in the Association" standard (not just votes cast at a meeting) means 60% of all 289 lots must approve — a high and intentional threshold. The committee supports this threshold as appropriate for foundational governance documents. This article is under active review.
